Question: good afternoon. I have been having severe abdominal pain (right in the belly button area) that radiates to LLL Quad and then sometimes to RL Quad. It is so intense that it takes me to my knees; feels worse than contractions at times. I feel nauseas, my head hurts and I am not sleeping. It does not seem to matter what I eat and I avoid all beef and fried foods..Can you help or suggest?

Please give details and post actual reports if done

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Noted the history and understood the concerns. Please give some additional information for me to assist you better: Since when have you got this problem? Is it related to stress and/or anxiety? Stool: Consistency, frequency, color, smell, any black stools, mucus? Do Bentyl, probiotics help? Any consultation with your Doctor or a Gastroenterologist?
Any investigations? Please give all the details....

Thanks.

The intense pain has been for 2 weeks, but his has been off and on for months. It was diarrhea ffor months..
I am a little stressed/anxious but I do not know anyone whom is not. I am a single mom, both parents have cancer and I help with one on the weekends. I am 22 years cancer survivor myself.
Anyway at times the stool is greenish colored, sometimes very mushy like baby poo, at times there is mucus and looks almost black stool. Yes at times it is very smelly.

I am very bloated and have gas despite what I eat. The cramps feel as if I will explode at any moment (for lack of better description) but then there is no bowel movement or very little.

No I have not seen an MD yet for I have no insurance. I have had bleeding ulcers in the past.

Brief Answer:
Please get at least stool tests. And as detailed.

Detailed Answer:
I can understand the stress you must be going through. There is no insurance too.
Noted the additional feedback you have given.
From the history you have provided this looks to be entero-colitis.
Simple stool tests for three consecutive days gives a lot of information and helps in deciding whether you need an antibiotic cover active against intestinal infection and Metronidazole or so.
Continue probiotics.
Take Bentyl that is dicyclomin three times a day to be symptom-free or at least bearable one.
Activated charcoal, bananas, curds/yogurt helps.
If the stool tests are not showing any infection then this may be IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome and mostly instigated or enhanced by stress and/or anxiety.
For one to say IBS, he/she needs to have normal investigations of stool, blood, Ultrasonography ? CT scan of abdomen, colonoscopy and biopsy. Please see if these can be done.
Bentyl works well in this case too if taken in proper dosages and duration.
Try to identify the foods and beverages and other factors that instigate or enhance the problems and avoid all these.
Avoid stress/anxiety - anyways it does not help in anyway, only increases the problems.

I hope this answer helps you.
Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Take care.
With Regards and all the best.
