Question: I have been dating a guy I knew from highschool for a couple months. When we had sex recently he penetrated me one time without a condom and then put a condom on. I also gave him oral sex without a condom and he ejaculated in my mouth a little bit. I have ocd and becoming infected with hiv is always one of my biggest worries. I’m not sure why I would have put myself in that situation. I know it takes 6 months to actually know if you have hiv so should I get tested 6 months from now and wait and worry? Thank you for your help.

Within 12 weeks after the exposure you can get a conclusive report. Recent test like 4th generation HIV Combo test results are highly reliable and they become confirmatory even earlier. Try to stick on safe sex in future to avoid such anxiety.
