Question: I have a pain under my sternum. It starts out as just discomfort but gets worse over a period of about an hour and gets unbearable. Lasts several hours, eventually fades away. I've checked what I've been eating and doing and there arent any patterns I can see. Happens every week or so, and has happened 3 times total. Would like to know why it keeps happening.

Brief Answer:
More details needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Most possibly it will be due to conditions like costochondritis or acid reflux. Cardiac causes like angina can also mimic similar symptoms but unlikely in your case.
Is there is any radiation of pain to other parts especially left arm? Do you experience any acid reflux disease symptoms like bloating or burning sensation in the abdomen? Is the area tender to touch? Do you have any history of trauma?
Waiting for your reply.
Thanks
