Question: I have a pain in left foot.outside/top between ankle and little toe. I can bend toes but it's painful. Bending toes back hurts mor than bending the toes forward. Bendind side to side equally hurts. Scale 1 to 10 = ranges from 3 doing nothing up to a 7 if I get up to walk. I can touch the spot, it's about the size of a quarter. No swelling. Been like this for two days. Top of arch is tendor. I can walk, little limp. Wife says L foot is reder in color compared to right foot. agree. Saturday walked 2 miles, Sunday walked 2 miles. Same running shoes I always use.

Brief Answer:
Possible tendinitis no gout or blood clot.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I don't think this can be related to gout or to blood clotting because it is very low grade pain. If it was gout you would have greater pain and it would be hot to touch and if it was a blood clots it would be lot of pain. I think it can be tendinitis because of the place of pain you are referring. It can be caused by possibly overuse, improper footwear and exercises.
2 miles isn't a long distance but if a person isn't used to it and doesn't do it frequently it can be a trigger.
Having rest is advisable, don't walk or use it. Keep limb elevated.
You can continue to take antinflamatory drugs such advil or naproxen.

Hope I have answered the question.
