Question: I had restylane filler in my cheeks removed with hylenex (a form of hylarounidase) and three days later I can barely move my left cheek, it wont contract, and my upper lip on my left side will not move. My smile is lopsided. I had hylenex to my right as well but its not affected. I have seen a neurologist and he said it looks like bells palsy. My MRI of brain and left facial nerve was clear. They put me on prednisone for two weeks, as I am now on day 16 with no improvement at all. My eye is not affected and I can wrinkle my forehead. I dont know whats happening. I am desperate for help. Can hylaronidase products destroy your nerves or muscles? I am so upset and dont know what to do.

This looks like localised muscle spasmodic contractions. It generally advocate Botox injections locally for a significant relief.

Yes, in few sensitive individuals hyaluronic acid products may cause some side effects.
