Brief Answer:
Acute sinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello......
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I'm Dr. Ajeet XXXXXXX

Your doubt that the pill is still stuck in your food pipe is unfounded. The pill might have hit the esophageal wall but the irritation must have persistent. The pill dissolves in a few minutes so no chances of it being there.

Common side effects of Augmentin are stomach upset, gas, diarrhea, clay-colored stools, and dark urine.

Black stools are not usually caused by it. However, there could be other reasons for it.

Here I would like you to share a few things.

What are your dietary habits?
Did you have any gastric ulcers in the past?
Do you smoke, do you take alcohol?
Are you taking some other medications especially Iron supplements?
You can also share a picture of the stool sample.

Waiting for your revert.
Take care.
Regards.
