Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I carefully reviewed your uploaded cardiac ultrasound report and would explain that it shows a normal heart function and structure.

All the measured parameters are within the normal ranges.

The mild enlarged left atria and right ventricle do not have any clinical significance fort the moment, as all the other parameters are normal.

I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

thank you doctor for your quick response but do you think it is a concern for the future or it is perfectly fine. I do not understand why will it show mildly enlarged if it is normal. to my knowledge that mild enlarged is not good, does that mean that my heart is starting to weaken as i age.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

I understand your concern and would explain that the atrial and ventricle size is usually evaluated based on the body mass index.

Some differences are based also on the inter-observer variability, which means that every echo technician may come into a slightly different conclusion about the heart chambers size based on the angle of measuring during the procedure.

For this reason, I don't think that these findings have any clinical significance, based also on the fact that all the other parameters are within the normal ranges.

I would just recommend follow up after 6 months with a new cardiac ultrasound in order to examine for any possible progression of these changes.

In the meantime, it is also necessary to close monitoring of your blood pressure values.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
