Question: Hi Doctor,

I am 30 weeks 3 days pregnant. I am confused when I am converting it to months. Can you please help me in getting detailed month wise conversion.
My first day of Last LMP is 14th July 2017.

Thanks for posting your query.
At 30 weeks 3 days gestation you are seven complete months pregnant. Your eighth month will start from 14th Feb. Since your last menstrual period was on 14th July, your next month will start from 14th of every month. The weeks and days may vary by one or two days due to 30-31 days variation in months.
A rough calculation is
first month- up to 4 weeks 3 days
second month- up to 9 weeks.
third month- up to 13 weeks 3 days.
fourth month - up to 17 weeks 3 days.
fifth month- up to 22 weeks.
sixth month- up to 26 weeks 03 days.
seventh month- up to 30 weeks 4 days.
eighth month- up to 35 weeks.
ninth month- up to 39 weeks.

Thanks for your answer. So my 8th month will complete on 16th or 23rd of March? If ninth month month completes on 39th weeks it will be on 13th of April but when I went to doctor they had given due date on 20th April.

So I am confused with all these weeks and days.

Due date is at 9 months plus 7 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing again.
Your 8th month will complete on 13th March and then the 9th month will complete on 13th April. The due date is calculated by adding 7 days to 9 completed months. That is why your delivery date is expected to be around 20th April. The months are calculated as per calendar dates. The weeks are calculated separately and delivery date is calculated at 40 weeks from the last menstrual period.
