Brief Answer:
Exclusive breast feeds...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is a policy that new borns under the age of 6 should be exclusively breast feed. Is this infant breast fed exclusively?

If yes, then there is no specific quality per feed. The child should feed until satisfied. And the feed should be repeated every 2-4 hours and whenever the child feels hungry.

If the child is not breast fed, I wish to know the reasons why.

Hope this answered your question. If you feel your query is not completely answered, please post specific questions and I shall answer it again in the follow up.

Hi, Child is given Mother's milk most of the time but in a day 3-4 times we are giving him formula milk as well. So please tell me how much quantity of formula milk should be given to him at one time and in one day how much quantity of milk is ideally required for 2 month old.

Brief Answer:
Encourage you to breast feed exclusively...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Apologies for the late reply... I was away from internet due to personal reasons.

Pediatric association all over world recommends a child under age of 6 months be breast fed exclusively. So if your child is breast feeding well and there are no other reasons, why do you want to switch over to formula feed.

If you have a valid reason for formula feeding, then I will suggest to start with 90 - 120ml every 2 hours. Amount needs to be increased if he is able to tolerate feeds well. We may increase it to 150 to 170ml every 4 hours. That being said, I will encourage you to keep breast feeds (no formula) for upto 6 months.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
