Question: My friend is 23 yrs old and she has undergone surface abalation treatment ( PERK) for both the eyes two days back. Her corneal thickness was 520 and 530 when tested with a machine which touched the eye ball physically. But her corneal thickness was 490 and 485 when tested with a machine which doesnt have physical contact with eye ball. she has some bandage lens in her eyes now after tretment. Earlier to the treatment she could see nearer objects with decent clarity and farther objects are not at all clear ( you can say almost blur) . Now after treatment ( today is 3rd day from the day of treatmwnt) what she feels is both close and farther objects are brighter than earlier but interestingly both near and far are not at all clear. The hospital staff said that after removing bandage lens it would improve slowly. The doctor said that her sight would reach to 0.5 after treatment. Earlier she had 4 and 3 units i suppose for both the eyes
.So please tell whether her treatment was succesful and is it true that the vision would be perfect after removing bandage lens or any signs of the case where her treatment didnt go well. She is worried and more over shez feeling uneasy to type. Thatz the reason i took initiative to post the concern over here to get good assistance medically.When called upon doctor he said to wait until 5days after which lens would be removed and then they could see. But meanwhile please give good assistance to know the status.
