Brief Answer:
Information.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The first thing would be to keep track of and document the weight gain and talk with your doctor. If you are having significant and continued weight gain that correlates with starting this drug, then your doctor may want to consider an alternative medication.

For the weight loss:

1. Decrease any simple carbohydrates. This includes sugars that are added or already in foods (except for fresh fruit) and foods that become sugars quickly in the body such as anything made with white flour. That includes most kinds of pasta.

2. Eliminate sugar-free sodas if you have them. That's not a typo - I mean sugar-free.

3. Increase vegetables - all type, but especially leafy greens.

4. Increase your exercise regimen (slowly).

5. Avoid eating a lot of food later in the day.

I hope this gives you a place to start.
