Hello,

I would like to know a few related details in order to guide you further:

- Do you have any localised swelling over the affected area?
- Any associated restriction of movements in the affected elbow?
- Any previous history of trauma or fracture in the same arm?

Kindly revert back with the above details. Awaiting your reply.

Brief Answer:
Elbow sprain or ligament strain

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Since you do not have any other symptoms apart from pain while folding your hand, then it seems to be just a minor case of elbow sprain or ligament strain.

I would suggest you to do the following:
- Take T. ZERODOL P SOS(as an when needed), this is a painkiller, should help you with the pain.
- If possible, you can make an elbow sling with cotton gauze. The sling helps to give the elbow joint proper rest and helps to prevent any undue stress to the joint. If not, you can buy an elbow brace from any local pharmacy.
- Try not to use your affected arm much for the next 2-3 days.
- Local heat or cold application, like you said, is beneficial, as this helps in reducing any inflammation formed over the area.

This should resolve by itself in a couple of days time. Just be careful not to completely fold or completely extend your arm for a few days so as to avoid any further damage.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to discuss further.
