But it leaks urine around the catheter tube to the bag. Is there a better remedy for leakage?

Brief Answer:

Try taking Oxybutynin twice daily.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Based on the facts that you have posted you seem to have an enlarged prostate and a self-indwelling catheter has been placed to ease continuous drainage of the bladder.

However, there is a leakage of urine by the side of the catheter.

The leakage of urine is due to spasm of the bladder muscle as a foreign body reaction to the catheter.

Taking Oxybutynin (5 mg) twice daily would help to resolve the problem.

Please get prescription of the drug from your family Physician.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
