How Can Allergic Reactions After Consuming Food Coloring Agents Be Managed?

Question: Doctor, I suspect my son is allergic to certain food coloring, when he has certain cakes with coloring, he has cold like symptoms. he keeps rubbing his eyes. we give him clarytine, which seems to help him sometimes. he is 4.5 years old, what advice do you give. thank you, XXXXXXX

So better to consult an allergy specialist and get done detailed food allergy testing.

This will help in identifying foods which are allergic to him.
You should also give him a Montelukast and Fexofenadine combination.

Montelukast is anti-allergic and Fexofenadine is an antihistamine.

The combination is better than single drug Claritin in (antihistamine) for allergy.
