Hllo Is Common Hepatic Artery Blood Flow With Peak Systolic
Question: Hllo
is common hepatic artery blood flow with peak systolic velocity 346 cm/s, peak end diastolic velocity 117 cm/s normal?
is common hepatic artery blood flow with peak systolic velocity 346 cm/s, peak end diastolic velocity 117 cm/s normal?
Brief Answer:
No they are high.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank for choosing "Ask a Doctor" service for your query,
Have seen your details and photo attached
In normal patients, systolic velocities approximate 120 cm/sec while diastolic peak should be approx 40 cm/sec.
The pressure you have written are high.
Thank you,
Follow ups are welcome!

Could it be related to MALS Syndrome? Reading of celiac artery origin PSV 301 cm/s and EDV is 132 cm/s.It says also spectral doppler velocity 193 cm/s.says can be explained by intermittent compressin inslightly different positions.
From what I have read ,different positions can alleviate compression in syndromes but is still a problem. They listed the common hepatic artery reading to be of uncertain significance.
Dr Chail ( radiologist) sees signs of compression in ct scans, ct angiography as well as upper gi and ultra sound. Also, my sons chest was slightly dented in at birth and I took him to 3 different Drs.They said was no problem but keep an eye on it.
In your opinion, do you think the common hepatic artery reading could be related to MALS & or, SMA Syndrome?
Do you agree with Dr Chail's possible diagnosis of SMA Syndrome? I am not doubting Dr Chail ( in fact I agree) but some Drs here are saying since compression can be explained by compression in slightly different positions that it is insignificant. It usually is relieved in different positions so, I think statement is stupid.
Can you tell me what common hepatic artery reading could mean other than compression?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Consult a second radiologist directly.
Detailed Answer:
Hey there thank you for follow up but as per your query these tests could be interpreted only by Radiologists(Dr Chail is a Radiologist) .A gastroenterologist works on the report given/read by a radiologist.
I would rather suggest you to consult directly to another Radiologist regarding this query.
As a gastroentrologist /Any other medicine specialist a answer could be given but thats not fair thing.
This is exclusively a radiology topic and ask a radiologist directly for secondary opinion.
Have gone through the answers given by other doctors too but its not their domain.
Better advice is to get you doubts cleared up by a Radiologist directly and write back to me after that.
Thanks
