Brief Answer:
Xerosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Dry skin is called xerosis in medical language and can be due to atopy (allergic) or ichthyosis or both.

I will recommend the following:
- Avoid frequent washing as it can remove natural oils of skin
- Avoid soaps or use mild soaps
- Routinely apply thick lotions or creams or oils
- Use of ammonium lactate or urea cream may be effective
- Drink cleaner water with low TDS

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
