Hi, Yesterday, I Woke Up With Pain In My Right
Question: Hi,
Yesterday, I woke up with pain in my right leg, up in my crotch in the joint between my lower abdomen and my upper thigh, also in my upper right calf and right knee. I took a couple Advil Liquid Gels. They helped. The pain has subsided in my calf and has improved in my crotch and upper thigh. Just a few minutes ago, I noticed a considerably large bright red discoloration around the lower part of my right calf. Any clues?

How long before I might expect an answer ? Are we talking minutes, hours, days, weeks or longer ?
Brief Answer:
Seems to be an inflammation...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
From what I understand you developed a sudden pain in the right inguinal region, upper thigh, knee and calf followed by a bright red discoloration in the lower calf. Do you remember sustaining any injury? As the pain is widely spread across the limb, there is a possibility of injury.
The second likely possibility is that of a pinched nerve from the back. It doesn't however explain the skin discoloration. Can you post picture of the skin changes here. There is an option to upload pictures on this site located on the right side of the page.
It's good to know the pain has subsided with the pain medication. Continue to use it again after 12 hours if the pain recurs. If the problem persists beyond 24 hours, it is worthwhile to visit a doctor for careful clinical examination of the limb. Your doctor may order for scans to locate the problem
Let me know if you need any clarifications.
Regards
