Question: Hi. I’ve had a UTI for a week - I was given 3 days trimethoprim and then 3 days Selexid and nothing has worked. I still have the burning pain when I pee and dribbling. I’m waiting for the results of my urinalysis but what can I do? I’m meant to be going abroad next week and I’m in agony

It can’t be an STD as I have only one sexual partner for over 2 years and I was tested less than a month ago

No but would the urinalysis I sent off today show stones? I don’t think it’s a yeast infection as I have them frequently and these are far more severe symptoms. Could it be a UTI that’s resistant to both the antibiotics I’ve taken?

The urinalysis would show microscopic blood, which indicates stones, among other things.You could easily have a UTI resistant to trimethoprim and selexid.
