Hi! I Have Sprained My Wrist From A Fall On

Question: Hi! I have sprained my wrist from a fall on roller skates. I’m pretty sure it’s a grade 2 sprain as it really hurts when I do all kinds of movement but there’s no bruising or swelling. I had an x-day saying there’s no fracture. My question is - how do I best heal from this? I have a 11 month baby of 12 kg that can’t walk yet, so resting the wrist is not an option.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I am sorry to hear about your situation but rest us necessary for at least first two days.
Also you have to use ice compresses for first 2 to 3 days changing them often and also keep the hand elevated.
You probably need to seek help from family or relatives since your baby can't let you to keep the wrist at rest. Rest us really necessary in order to help healing faster and also avoid further damages.
Also if your bandage is not tight enough you can have another one tighter or a splint or cast in order to help keeping immobilised and help healing.
Also taking antinflamatory drugs such ibuprofen or naproxen for pain and inflammation.

Hope I have answered the question.
