Question: Hi, I have been having what we thought might be a neurological attack but two days ago there was something else that happened. I usually get very fatigued all of a sudden, my left leg or both legs start getting weak and then start getting real heavy until I cannot walk at all. Once in awhile my throat starts felling like it is closing up and I will slur my speech. After it ends I am so tired I will sleep for hours. This time I got this swimmy feeling that I get quite ofen lately, but now it sees to spread. Sometimes my left eyelid will droop and looks almost closed, my face will get numb and my mouth might droop. This last time, two days ago the eye and face problem didn't happen but my throat got where it felt really tight and it was all I could do to talk and my husband said it was pretty much unrecognizable speech. My left leg started and the right one followed as far as getting weak and then heavey till I couldn't walk again. I also got very fatigued after my head got all swimmy and then I got extremely fatigued.
Do you have any ideas I hope?
Thanks, Georgia

Brief Answer:
Seems like stroke.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
The clinical picture you have given seems like a cerebro vascular accident commonly known as stroke or cerebral stroke.
This occurres due to blockage of blood flow to certain part of your brain and the portion of your body innervated by the brain get affected.
The other possibilities like seizure episodes have to be ruled out before commencing the treatment.
I suggest you to consult a physician or a neurologist and get evaluated. You have to take CT scan of your brain to assess the extent of the damage.
Most patients improve well with timely treatment.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks
