Question: Hi. I have a child who is 5 years old she had chicken nuggets on Friday night (Mcdonalds) she woke up Saturday morning vomiting. Lasted for about 6-7 hrs. My child ate chicken nuggets last night (7-13-23) from Wendy's. She woke up at 5:00 vomiting again. What could be wrong and why she is doing this?

Brief Answer:
Could be food poisoning or indigestion

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for asking on this platform
I have gone through the query and do understand your concern. Bouts of vomiting after having chicken nuggets could be due to improper digestion or food poisoning (some kind of infection). I would like to know if there is any history of similar episodes in past as allergy to ingredients used in preparation of nuggets may also cause vomiting or GI upset.
Here I would like to give some antiemetic like ondensetron along with acid reducing agents like ranitidine to control the active episodes of vomiting. Many a time vomiting is followed by loose motion so I request you to be watchful for appearance of any new symptoms. Give enough amount of fluid to avoid dehydration. In case of indigestion with this treatment only the child should improve. If symptoms persist consult your pediatrician to look for food poisoning and treatment (which includes antibiotics).
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more doubts.
Thanks and regards
