Hi, I Am Taking Viibryd 15 Mg - It Is
Question: Hi,
I am taking Viibryd 15 mg - it is the ONLY antidepressant that has ever worked for me after trying tons of different options over the years. I know that I need something for my severe anxiety and negative thoughts, along with very bad fights with my husband. This med has really helped me in that regard.
My husband and I are going to start to try and get pregnant soon and I know that this med is a category C and hasn't been studied so much on this and that zoloft is better - howerver i had a bad experience with the Zoloft and I dont wish to take it.
I am at a very low dose of the Viibryd and was hoping that it would be something that a doctor would feel it would be ok to stay on. Please tell me thoughts.

Viibyrd is a pregnancy category C drug and should be used during pregnancy only if it is absolutely necessary. In case an anti anxiety drug is necessary and it is working well for you then you can continue with it on a minimal possible dose that helps you. Since it can cause a lesser weight gain in the fetus it is best to get your regular antenatal ultrasound scans done to monitor the regular fetal growth.
You can also start with relaxation exercises like deep breathing exercises and see if it helps in reducing the anxiety.
