Question: Hi, I am R J XXXXXXX and I got a bad cold last week and now I am congested with sore throat and runny nose. In the past this has led to a sinus infection. Can I get an antibiotic to help? A few years ago I took Azithromyacin.

Brief Answer:
An antibiotic will help, but cannot prescribe online.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service.

All colds will not turn into sinus infections usually. However, they can make you vulnerable to bacterial infections.

Azithromycin would be quite an ideal choice in such cases. But you will need a prescription to buy that and a prescription can not be provided through online consultation (not at least on this forum).

You will have to get it prescribed from your local GP/PCP.

You can not buy these medicines online.

I apologize for not being able to provide you with a valid prescription.

Hope this information will be of help to you.

Wish you speedy recovery.

Best regards
