Question: Hi, I am 7 weeks pregnant and very fit. I do Crossfit a lot and I am a former gymnast. Yesterday I did double leg lifts hanging from a bar bringing my toes to the bar with straight legs and then starting worrying about it last night because I read something that said not to do double leg lifts even during your first trimester. I didn’t think about it because it’s pretty easy for me and my doctor said I could keep doing what I’ve been doing but now I’m worried. Could I have caused harm to the growing fetus or my womb or am I overreacting again.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
No harm caused...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Significant growth and development of fetus occur within the first 3 months (trimester). Thus the advice to restrict strenuous exercise. Now that you are in the 7th month, I don't think you should be worried.
Further since you are currently asymptomatic (no abdominal pain or bleeding), I am confident that everything is fine and there is no need for concern.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

I’m 7 weeks not 7 months so i’m in my first trimester that’s why I worry all the time. I have no bleeding and just the usual aches and pains in pelvic are but nothing noteworthy but I still worry.

Brief Answer:
Still no need to be worried...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry I misread the information. At 7 weeks strenuous exercise such as double leg lifts may cause ill effects especially if you have had previous miscarriages. May I know if you had miscarriages in the past? I would also like to know your age and if this was a natural conception.

If you do not have significantly lower abdominal pain or bleeding, it seems that everything is ok. But I would order for an ultrasound scan if you develop any of the aforementioned symptoms or if this is a high-risk pregnancy.

Regards
