I have a bump anterior pillar right above my tonsils. It's been at that location for over 20 years. Just wondering what that could be?

Brief Answer:

Mucocele of the minor salivary glands

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

After going through the history, I am of the opinion that the lesion what you are quoting about could be mucocele (saliva filled sac) of the minor salivary gland and not the adenoid tissue.

If you could send us the picture of the same, I will be able to help you in a better way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Tonsillar remnant.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

The image you have posted is not very clear. Going by the location of the lesion, I am of the opinion that it could be a tonsillar remnant and not a mucocele.

Do not worry! It is perfectly normal. That's the reason, the other doctors who had examined you earlier did not find it to be suspicious.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
