Question: Hi - I am currently taking 50mg of Metroprolol for high blood pressure, once a day. I currently have some kind of cold, but think it is an infection. Is it safe take z-pack (Zithromax/azitrhomycin) if I am taking Meteoprolol?

Hi katsnelson.....
Welcome to Ask a doctor.I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX
Yes....it is absolutely safe to take them simultaneously. There are absolutely no contraindication for it.
But it is always advised to space 2 seperate medications (by at least half an hour I.e the gastric emptying time). This will prevent the interference in absorption of each other (pharmacokinetics).
Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
