Question: Hey question. I met a young lady and we are just friends. She confided in me that she lost a daughter to congenital heart disease and plastic bronchitis. What is plastic bronchitis?

Plastic bronchitis is commonly seen with children.
It is caused by lymphatic obstruction.
So lymph drainage is not possible. So lymphatic glands in airways secret thick, rubbery, gelatinous secretions in expectoration which are very hard to cough out and hence cause breathing difficulty.
Plastic nature of secretions is the cause for the name 'plastic bronchitis'.
It is commonly associated with other congenital conditions like congenital heart disease.
At what age she died?

Good morning my friend. She died at age of 14. It has not been one full year since she died.

I keep fighting the anxiety. I have greatly improved but have the anxiety making it difficult to get over
