Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome back to Ask a Doctor service!

It is quite normal to feel your heartbeat in this region, especially when stretching or during physical activity.

There is no reason to panic.

So, just relax and don’t worry about it!

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are related to musculoskeletal pain.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Your symptoms are not related to the heart.

In fact sharp pain in this region is typically musculoskeletal pain.

Even the shoulder pain.

So, there is no reason to panic!

I recommend taking ibuprofen for the pain.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not related to the heart.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

I am sorry for the delay in answering but have been busy on a night shift at the hospital.

I can not find your echo reports in the uploaded images!

Based on your description, it could be costochondritis ( the pain related to the heart is not sharp).

Is the pain triggered by deep breathing or body movements? This would be another argument in favour of costochondritis.

I recommend taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

Sn antiacid can help improve your stomach too in case of esophageal spasms or acid reflux.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Please let me know in case of further questions.

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

I couldn’t find any attachments now, even the previous images.

Does manual pressure on this region trigger the pain?

Is the pain related to hunger or eating?

I don’t think that this is cardiac related based on your description.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Please see echo I tried to upload again … it does not hurt when I touch it … or movement it has subsided but am concerned that it could be a cardiac event or perhaps from eating I took a Pepcid and it seemed to help it lasted 2 days

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not related to the heart

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Your cardiac ultrasound is within normal ranges and does not indicate any serious cardiac disorders.

It could be a gastroesophageal reflux or esophageal spasms based on your description.

I wouldn’t worr To much about the heart as cardiac pain is not sharp. It is usually dull, not well localised and triggered by straining physical activity.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Please let me know in case of further questions!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
