Question: Hello, i am trying to loose weight as advised by my GP and others. A typical day is eat a fat and sugar free yoghurt for breakfast, walk 5 miles (my gym is shut because of covid). Eat fish and salad for evening meal. Eat nothing else in the day, drink water, no alcohol. Nothing else. Next day put 3lbs weight on. How does this work. I obviously burn more calories than i put in. My current weight is 21st 11lbs.

I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but weight is not the only way to assess weight loss. I would recommend that you take the measurements of your chest, waist and hips and keep them recorded on weekly basis. This shall indicate wether or not you loose body fat. I would also recommend that you eat more balanced meals to prevent losing your muscular mass.

Dear sir, hello again.. yes , I am a real doctor.. And based on scientific data your weight is influenced by your muscle mass , fat mass and water content of your body. losing fat and gaining muscles is considered weight loss even though your weight on the scale might not decrease and may even increase.. The most accurate way to measure that is an inbody analysis done monthly.. Since this is not easily applicable in the time of the current pandemic , I advised you to take body measurements as an indicator of fat loss.. Might not as accurate as an inbody analysis but easier to apply.. Thank you..
