Question: Hello doctor,
I went for a massage yesterday. I was wearing black trousers and t shirt. Hand job was offered but refused. She didn't even really touch my skin other than arms. However, next day i noticed a slight cut on my leg. This could have been a coincidence but has left me worried.
Am I at any risk at all? Not sure howni received this cut. Could have been in my sleep. The lady could not have contacted this cut through my jeans. But, I am still worried. If ahe scratched me and she had nicks on her fingers, could it have infected me with anything? Particularly worried about HIV.

Brief Answer:
There is absolutly no risk for HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in"Ask a Doctor".
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Based on your history, having just a massage (even with cloths) I think you shouldn't worry because there is absolutly no risk for HIV.HIV cannot be transmmited in this situation.
Related the cut in the leg under your jeans you should know that till the moment you didn't have a direct blood to blood contact there is absolutly no risk for HIV or other infection.

Hope I have answered your query.
Feel free to ask me further.

A very slight cut. I will send picture. Now 2 days old.
Would a cut simply have to be far deeper?

So these were the black trousers I was wearing. This is the cut. Healing niw a day later. Would the cut have to be far deeper? Read somewhere it woukd have to be. Would trousers be thick enough? Note trousers are quite thick. Like jeans. Don't even think it is possible for her to have cut me through them. Also, saw no noticeable blood on hands or on my trousers.
Would the material simoly be too thick?

There is no risk for HIV in this situation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome back,
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have seen the pictures carefully and I think that she couldn't have scratched you through the jeans and the cut is very small and superficial.

So, you shouldn't worry because there is no risk for HIV in this situation.
You should know that HIV cannot be transmitted from minor skin scratches.

Hope I have answered your query.
Regards

Ok. Thanks XXXXXXX Final question. For the record, i read somewhere, that it would have to be an open wound, requiring stitches. Lots of blood. Would you agree with this? Categorically true?
