Hello: For The Last 4 Or 5 Days, I've Been

Question: Hello: For the last 4 or 5 days, I've been having left arm achiness and pain behind the left breast and under the breast at the rib cage. About two weeks ago, I went to the ER for chest pain and pressure. I was given an ekg, chest xray, Troponin, CT scan, cbc, metabolic panel, and covid 19 test, all of which were normal. After I left the hospital, I started having achiness in my left arm. I've had achiness in my left arm before and it turned out to be nothing. But I know this is a gamble. I have had arthritic type pains throughout other parts of my body. Should I go to the ER again? I last had a mammogram in July of 2019 so it hasn't been a year yet. The mammogram was also normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome back on - Ask a Doctor - service!

I reviewed again your medical history and would like to explain that considering the pain topic and the fact your continuous arm and chest pain is well localized;

- furthermore all medical test have resulted normal;

- also your past history of arthritic complaints;

- it may be suggested that your recent complaints may be of muscular-skeletal disorder.

I would like to reassure you that nothing serious is present; you just need to relieve your symptoms. An anti-inflammatory drug such as Naproxen, or Ibuprofen could be helpful.

Considering your recent clinical symptomatology, also the fact it is a difficult situation involving ER services all around the world with Covid patients, it seems wise trying to control your complaints at home.

Only in case your pain becomes very frequent and much concerning even after the above mentioned medications, you may ask medical assistance at your living area.

I remain at your disposal for any further discussion, in case of health issues.

Wishing you a pleasant weekend!
