Question: Hello Doctor,
Good Evening.
Myself Anupriya Ramachandran from XXXXXXX This is regarding my Father’s report. My Father he is 66 years of age and he is suffering from prostrate issue for last 3 years. And he used to have regular checkups by having routine checkups for PSA test and he takes Veltan (0.4) tablet. His BP is normal.
He had urine infections last November and later on after the medications from the doctor the urine infection reduced. Then when the check up was done the prostate enlarged volume was 114cc. And doctor suggested us to do a Biopsy test. Last week we did the biopsy test from Amala Institute Of Medical Science XXXXXXX We have attached the biopsy and other reports like ultra sound scan etc.
Kindly i request you to go through the biopsy report, other reports and put out the suggestions on the same. Also let us know whether the biopsy report is favourable.
And current issue he is suffering is in the night time the number of intervals in urine passes is on frequent basis and so the night time the sleep is less. Day time it is ok. Because of that the tiredness is more.
Kindly do advice us on the same so that we go ahead with further treatments.
Regards

Brief Answer:
He needs to undergo endoscopic surgery .

Detailed Answer:
hello
Thanks for query .
Based on the facts and relevant reports of your father that you have posted he seems to have bladder outlet obstruction due to Benign Enlargement of Prostate (BEP) which is very common after the age of 60 years .

As regards his biopsy reports the report it is satisfactory and there is no evidence of cancer of Prostate .

Considering his predominant symptom of nocturnal frequency for urination (Nocturia) I would suggest you to get him operated for resection of enlarged prostate by an endoscopic surgery what is called as Trans Urethral Resection of Prostate (TURP) .

This is a gold standard surgery and is widely carried out all over the world and gives satisfactory results and improves quality of life of the patient .

Consult qualified Urologist and go ahead to plan the same .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
