Question: Got a report from my echo ..can you interpret? I have mitral valve prolapse..would that cause the enlarged left atrial?

I was nervous during the ekg my pulse was pumping because of my nervousness but my pulse usually runs higher than normal.. 70-95 is that harmful?

Hello Ma’am ,

I've gone through the medical query and I can understand your concern,

I would like to tell you that the uploaded report is only of ECG which is showing left atrial enlargement.

As per the information provided by you that you also have a prolapsing mitral valve on echo-which could result in leakage or backflow of blood from mitral valve causing enlargement of left atrium over a period of time due to volume overload.

The normal range of heart rate is between 60-100 beats per minute so your heart rate is within a normal range. Yes, stress and anxiety do cause a fast heart rate so try to stay relaxed. 70-95 is not harmful.
