Question: Good morning Doctor,
39 year old male suffering from Retinitis pigmentosa and nystagmus since birth. Please suggest future treatment, complications, any major surgery and further prognosis.

You start taking some multivitamins

Hey thanks for the question . Retinitis pigmentosa is a slowly progressing disease and so the central vision will be preserved till the end which is a plus point on which we should focus upon . Secondly take some multivitamins which have lutein , zeaxanthin and carotene in them . The complications can be cataract formation and retinal
membrane formations which may need surgery in future . They may invent some surgery in future which can help like stem cell surgeries or may be a retinal transplant . Hope my answer helps you . Regards
