Question: For the last few months I’ve had a strong smell, almost sweet coming from my anus when I go to the bathroom. It’s so strong that I fear having sex as I’m a XXXXXXX male. I don’t have hemorrhoids and am an otherwise healthy, clean male. What is causing this and how can I stop it?

Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think the bad smell from your anus may be caused either by a sexually transmitted disease such chlamydia, gonorrhoea or trichomonas or by candida infection of stools.
I can suggest you to do an anal swap to get tested for chlamydia, gonorrhoea and trichomonas but since you say you are clean you may have to be sure about it and don't it.
If the STD are excluded you may do a stool candida test to check for candida infection which can also give an unpleasant smell to your stools.
If candida test is positive you may be treated with oral antifungals.
Probiotics and fiber don't help much in this case.
