Brief Answer:
can discontinue at this point

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The tablets are used to reduce the chance of developing infective endocarditis which is an infection that can occur in the heart.

You can discontinue the tablets at this point. Normally a single large dose, like the one that you had is given.

According to the XXXXXXX Dental association website, Uptodate (another medical information website) and XXXXXXX association of Family physician website article, the prophylaxis is only needed if you have a murmur along with your prolapse.

If there is no murmur then prophylaxix is not needed despite the presence of the mitral prolapse.
Your doctor can check on the presence or absence of this murmur.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
consider assessment, normally only one large dose

Detailed Answer:
HI

As you correctly stated the temp is low grade (low grade is 99.5 to 100.9 in most definitions though some may have slight higher range)

A slight increase in temperature can be due to different causes and prophylaxis is only suppose to be a single very large dose given before the procedure.
The organisations mentioned (American dental associa. and XXXXXXX heart associa.) do not recommend additional doses.

Based on this, you can discontinue.
If you are not comfortable, which is ok ,then it may be best to speak to your doctor for an assessment to find temperature source.

The slight increase may be due to daily variation, may be due to onset of cough/cold or other unrelated infection
