Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are a common side effect of statins use...

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms especially joint aches and cramps are a common side effect of taking statins (simvastatin) and they have nothing to do with aging.

My advice is to discuss with your doctor to lower the dose to 10mg in order to reduce those side effects.

Wish you health!

First of all Thank You for your reply !!

And I must say really the cramping in my legs more directly inner thigh can be from the statins? I confronted the doctor on this many times and he never even suggested that could be a side effect most of the achy joint problems have begun in the last two years and he's still never thought of this the biggest pains are the shoulders both and the knees and seems that the cramps start in the feet then end up as total XXXXXXX Horse at night the only way I stop them is tonic water with quinine. And the more personal ED has been staggering for about 2-3 years but really getting worse almost unable to sustain an erection for sex. I really feel sore towards my doctor at this point he may become my previous doctor soon!

Brief Answer:
Other diagnosis are to rule out before determining statins as cause

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

1. Before determining that the cramping in your legs is due to statins, I want to make sure that you do not have:
- arthritis
- magnesium deficiency
- neurological issues

through respective tests.

2. With regards to ED, I need to know your cardiac tests results to see if you have any cardio-vascular problem before deciding any medication for ED like sidenafil.
