Brief Answer: Infective endocarditis Detailed Answer: Dear Friend. Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern. Yes, this can happen. An I.V. injection can cause damage to Right side of heart that is Tricuspid valve. But this is more seen in IV Drug abusers as they share needles, which can transmit infection called as Infective Endocarditis. I advise you to get following investigations done to be sure : 1. Echocardiography 2. Blood Culture 3. HIV , HBsAg , Anti HCV Antibody. About cellulitis, this is un likley that a person gets IV injection in arm and gets cellulitis in leg. This can happen if cellulitis is well spread over whole of the body. This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any query you may please ask me. Stay Healthy.
