Does Gum Grow Back After A Dental Implant Is Placed?

Question: I am in the process of getting an implant on my 2 front teeth. During the process of finding the abutement, the dentist used a laser to burn throught the gum tissue to find the abutement. it left a big hole on the top front of my gum on top of the current bridge and a big hole under my roof mouth below and around the abutement. My question is will the gum grow back after the implant is placed? After all this burn, he couldn't take out the screw that currently covers the abutement so I have to go back to his surgeon partner and see if he can take it out. Do screws get stuck in the abutement? is this normal?

As per the history posted here,I can assure you that the gum tissues will definitely grow and surround the abutment. It is not an uncommon finding that the abutment gets deeply seated inside the tissues and dentist finds it little difficult to relocate them.The main concern here, is not to damage excessive tissues.

Placing implants itself means to make it aesthetically and functionally improved.

By any chance,if the tissue does not grow there, your dentist will make an effort to place tissue graft for faster healing and to regenerate the new tissue there.

Please do not worry about the treatment.your dentist must have consulted an oral and maxillofacial surgeon regarding the progressing treatment.

Please remember at any point of treatment if you feel the treatment is not as per suggested to you in the previous meetings,please do not be hesitant in asking your dentist to explain you.
