Question: my husband has sudden onset of very enlarged scrotum within the last 2 hours. this has never happened. is it an emergency? last week his hands swelled and receded within 2 days. a doctor checked him out for that without coming to a conclusion.

Hi,

There could be a frequent reactionary edema causing fluid to pile up in scrotum. while it may resolve spontaneously it needs to be ascertained on possible causes of such fluid pile up.
I suggest to reach ER if the swelling is progressing. An internal medicine specialist can help understand the cause.
