Question: Doctor, my mother (52 years old) got Covid last month and recovered now... Her CT scan taken that time showed atheromatous changes of aorta and coronary arteries as mentioned in this report...her general physician asked her to get cardiac consultation and an angiogram if required....her ECG and echo was normal during last year's master checkup... Is it necessary to do an angiogram doctor??

Brief Answer:
Please refer to the detailed information below

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After reviewing your medical query I can understand your concern and I would like to tell you that the need of coronary angiography is decided on the basis of clinical situation and associated medical conditions.

This CT Chest report provides very inadequate and vague information about coronary arteries. I would like to suggest you to go for a stress echo first.

If any abnormalities show up in that then you can discuss with a cardiologist and can schedule an angiography.

Kind Regards

Thank you doctor. Around 4 months back, she had a master checkup and got a basic cardiac evaluation. I've posted the results of the same. Please give your opinion

Thanks doctor. Then why does the CT scan show that there is a plaque build-up in arteries? Could it be an age related change?... Both my dad n mom got Covid. Father's ct report was normal... I saw this statement only in mom's report

Detailed Answer:
Yes, it’s an age related issue which is not significant enough to cause any issues.
