Do Fluttering Feeling In My Chest And Slightly High BP Readings For About A Year Need Medical Evaluation?

default
Posted on Thu, 3 Oct 2019
Question: I have been a butterfly fluttering feeling in my chest a couple of times a day, usually more at night time after dinner. I had an ekg when I was pregnant with my son about a year and a half ago, and my cholesterol checked in Jul of 2016 and all was perfect. When I was pregnant with my son, at the end of my pregnancy my blood pressure went from a 117/78 to 130/85ish and it seems to have stayed there since then. Now about a year later I am having these flutters. I have been under a lot of stress because of family medical issues, and finishing grad school. I know these things along with being tired can cause the fluttering.I just wanted to ensure that I shouldn't see a cardiologist. I have seen one within the year. I also gave myself a bit of a sternum rub when I was doing my tri-monthy self breast exam. Could the muscles be irritated and spasming?
