Brief Answer:
You are having impaired glucose tolerance means pre diabetic as per history

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to the 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have read your question and below is my answer.

You are having impaired fasting and post prandial glucose according to history provided.
You are having pre diabetes condition and your glucose level has not been controlled well.

The metformin is usually prescribed in obese individual with diabetes. So if you are overweight like BMI more than 25 than don't change the drug.

Take low glycemic fruits and green leafy vegetables more.

Reduce weight by exercise if you are obese.

I suggest you take medicine and don't stop medicine because your fasting glucose level crossing over 126 often that suggest high chance of development of diabetes.

Kindly check your serum triglycerides and lipid level as well. If triglyceride also high than for such diabetic dyslipidemia another alternative drug is saroglitazar which is good drug in reducing sugar as well as lipid.

You can discuss these provided information with your treating doctor and get prescription accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question
