Dear Madam, I Have A Bloated Stomach And The Outer

Question: Dear madam, I have a bloated stomach and the outer walls of the stomach are tight. I had been driving since morning and didn't have lunch. I just had sugarcane juice at 2.30 and then owing to accumulation of gas had one glass of Lassi at 5 pm. Assuming that it's gastritis, I have taken one pantocid-dsr at around 8.30 pm. Now I am feeling slightly hungry but the stomach is full and bloated with gas. I am planning to take one chapathi and one cup of cold milk. If the gas doesn't exit then I plan to take a pudin XXXXXXX at around 11 am.Kindly advise as to how can I get rid of the gas and the bloated stomach.

Brief Answer:
Dyspepsia

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

Skipping the meals can lead to bloating and dyspepsia.
I usually suggest Gasex tablet for elimination of gases.
Tummy massage also helps. It can be done with any oil like olive oil or mustard oil and massaged from right to left side or ILU massage. Lying down on tummy for few minutes is also helpful. Drinking lots of water is also helpful. Taking meals daily at specific timings will help reduce the bloating. Some complex proteins like rajma, etc may be hard to digest and can be reduced in diet. Instead of juice, 4-5 fruits can be taken daily. Following a healthy diet and lots of water helps reduce digestion issues. Anyways it resolves by itself in sometime.
