Could It Have Damaged My Nerves In Cervical Spine?

Question: MI already spent 10 mins. writing down my symptoms due to hard blow to head 2 yrs. ago. Severe sideways whiplash, major vision change, no new exam or glasses helped. Secialist says eyeballs ok, no damage. Can read for more than 30 mins. everything blurs for an hour at least. Also eyeballs spasm back and forth rapidly for no reason at all. I actually saw it in the mirror one time. Sleep cycle shot..brain will not tell me it's time to sleep after 74 hrs. awake, then I pass out for 4-5 hrs., not really rested. I stumble and trip over things because It feels like my body isn't in the place I thought it was compared to certain objects..Hard to explain. Tinnitus, mild to moderate, always. MRI and CT scans show NOTHING. Could I POSSIBLY have damaged my nerves in cervical spine? Or base of head?

Brief Answer:
Postconcussive syndrome, post traumatic stress disorder, to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

These symptoms don’t indicate any neck nerves damage.

In my opinion, post concussive syndrome, post traumatic stress disorder, are two conditions to consider in your case, since the MRI didn’t show any brain damage to justify your symptoms. An evaluation by a Psychologist or Psychiatrist trained in this field is necessary.

Treatment possibilities include cognitive rehabilitation, psychotherapy, stress management, vocational counseling, and symptomatic treatment with medications.Another possible treatment modality is hydrotherapy or quantitative EEG biofeedback.

The opinion of your Neurologist is necessary for this.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Thanks.
