Can Pregnancy Happen After Using An Inanimate Object Touched By Someone?
Question: I suffer from extremely severe anxiety so apologies if this is a silly question. I'm 16 weeks pregnant with my first baby me and my partner are so happy and have been trying for 4 years. I am petrified that this isn't his baby even though I haven't slept with anyone else. I haven't kissed or done anything else with anyone. But around the time I concieved a guy friend of mine held and touched my new sex toy/dildo (we were just having a laugh) and then I put it in 5 mins later. now I've completely convinced myself that he somehow had semen on his hands and that's what's made me pregnant. I'm not enjoying my pregnancy because of this :( I'm also creating false memories in my head I'm convinced I did something with someone else but just forgotten?? Can you please give me some insight if you think I have anything to worry about. Thank you so much

I can assure you without a doubt that your male friend who touched your sex toy did not cause your pregnancy, given that it wasn't a sexual situation when he held the object.
To cause pregnancy he would have had to have just ejaculated on his hand immediately before holding the toy, I mean within seconds before holding it, so you would have been aware had that happened.
And his hand would have had to be loaded with fresh semen - all of this would have had to be obviously intentional.
From what you described, this is not what happened, and given that you have not had intercourse with anyone other than your partner, the baby is your partner's.
Sperm die very quickly once outside of the male or female genital tracts and do not survive on inanimate objects or even hands.
