Can Okra Cause Redness And Irritation In Eyes?

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Sep 2015
Question: I cut okra this morning and then rubbed my eye (didn't realize I did) before I washed my hands. Rinsed with cool water, am using ice pack. Eye is blood shot, and creating small "bubbles" when i blink. It is bloodshot (I think from rubbing) but starting to feel a little better. Is there anything else i need to do?
Update, there is no longer any bubbling, and feeling of "something in it" is subsiding. Still red, but getting better. I think I'm okay now. Thank you!

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Okra or ladies fingers sometimes causes irritation to eyes leading to conjunbctival congestion.
Thoroghly risning the eyes with fresh water for 10 to 15 minutes is all that is required. Avoid rubbing the eye as it will worsen it.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad top assist you.

Take Care
