Question: We belong to a club that has an heated outside pool, the women merely just socialize in the pool. I do no lap swimming at all. I am NOT yet on dialysis at this time but probably will be at the end of the year. Do I have restrictions now or later?

Brief Answer:
You may not be able to swim with an IV access line

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this kidney disease that would probably need dialysis in the near future. Dialysis patients have an intra venous access line that need strict hygiene measures to make sure it stays free fro infections. Swimming does not offer this protection and would most likely not be acceptable once you get there.

For now, you have no restrictions. Unless and intravenous access line in put into place that would necessitate extra care, there is no reason to think so. Feel free and enjoy yourself as much as you can.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be.
