Question: Hi Doctor,

My wife is 13 weeks pregnant and is suffering from blocked nose and severe cold. Could you advise a solution as the cold is leading to sleeplessness and irritation? Can she use Otrivin Inhaler for immediate relief or would it interfere with pregnancy?

Kindly advise.

Regards,
doctor

Hi dear,

She can take Otrivin nose drops safely once in night before sleeping.
Moreover, she should take levocetrizine tablet for relief from cold.
Steam inhalation twice to thrice a day for 3-4 days to get relief.
She can apply vicks ointment locally on nose and chest.
