Hello,

Thank you for using "Ask a doctor" service.

The fact that the anti-allergic medication helps, makes it very possible that the symptoms that you have are a very mild allergy. So I would say continue to use it as needed.

Showers, especially the hot ones and frequent can cause dry skin. Dry skin causes itchiness. So my advice is to avoid frequent and long hot showers as much as possible. Also use a good moisturizing body cream and drink plenty of water to stay well hydrated.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
